Completed his Masters in Engineering & Management from UK, is also a certified roll pass designer from Canada and was the youngest member of AIKW, Germany at the age of 23. He is the face of the company for international business and has lead the company towards technological advancements and capabilities to manufacture the most advanced and high capacity rolling mills.

Holds a degree in Management and leads the company towards operational excellence and efficiency. An expert in lean operations from purchase to productions.

More than forty years professional experience in Steelplant design, engineering, project management, operations and preventative maintenance. Extensive senior management experience as General Manager, Executive Director, Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer, Operations Manager and Maintenance Superintendent. Directly involved with DRI production, EAF steelmaking, secondary steelmaking, continuous casting (billets), rolling mills (long products), production and quality management, environmental control, energy management and other associated utilities and services.
Closely involved at Integrated Steelplants with pellet and sinter production, blast furnace and Corex ironmaking, DRI, BOF steelmaking, the development of Conarc Steelmaking, thick and thin slab casting, hot charging, hot strip mills and developing material handling, scrap processing, slag handling and slag granulation / aggregates techniques. Played key roles in the introduction and development of a multi-disciplinary skilled manpower structures and process safety management systems.
Consultancy includes, multiple assignments as Lenders Independent Engineer, steelworks expansion project feasibility studies and technical due diligence appraisals, long and flat product production rationalisation, combination bar and rod mill installations, steelworks asset evaluations etc

Tom Robertson is a highly knowledgeable hot rolling consultant with over forty years’ experience in a large variety of Hot Strip Mills worldwide. He is an engineering graduate and a Chartered engineer with experience at senior management level in Hot Strip Mill operations.
Tom Robertson is associated with A R Group as the Chief Engineering Expert –
Strip Rolling Division.

customers and banks in a variety of countries worldwide

Simon Wright

Tech Consultant

Simon Wright is amongst the worlds most experienced designers for section roll pass design, He has worked over 28 years in designing various sections and has been core team member of section roll pass design for top European companies. Simon Wright is now associated with A R Group and is the Chief Expert -Section Rolling Division. He has had : Full career in the Operation and Development of Light, Medium & Heavy Section, Rail and Sheet Piling Mills  Patented Roll Pass Design for rolling high speed railway track in 120m lengths Developed and commissioned 700mm wide Zed pile rolling in heavy section tandem mill layout Designed and commissioned hot rolling mills and roll pass designs from 50mm to 1000mm web width and up to more than 1000kg/m
